LEGAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR JURY SERVICE:

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.
  • You must live in the county or municipality that summoned you.
  • You must be a United States citizen.
  • You must read, speak, and understand English.
  • You must not have served on a jury for five or more days in the past twelve months.
  • You must not be solely responsible for the daily care of a permanently disabled person.
  • You must not have a physical or mental disability that would prevent your ability to serve as a juror.

POSTPONEMENTS
By state law, each juror is allowed one postponement per jury summons. If you have work conflicts, doctor's appointments, school conflicts, etc., we will grant you a postponement to another day. We allow you to pick the day that you do your juror service. You can pick any day, a Monday through a Thursday, at least 5 weeks after your current summons date. You may call us with the day that you wish to postpone to,
fill our the electronic form, or you may e-mail us.

NO LONGER A RESIDENT
If you are no longer a resident of El Paso county, you are not eligible for jury service in our county. Please fill out the juror question
naire with the address where you have moved to, or are currently living, and send it to us. You may also fill out the electronic form or e-mail that address to us.
