Our volunteer program has been active for several years and we are determined to see this program grow and flourish.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We have and have had volunteers from all walks of life; displaced homemakers, retirees, college students, novelists, military & military spouses, and all sorts of interested folks from our community. Each volunteer and the reason they volunteer are as unique as each person. If you are over 18, have a desire to learn more about our justice system, are reliable, want to make a difference in our community, are willing to be part of a team, and can dedicate at least 8 hours a week, please consider joining us. (To maintain building security each applicant is subject to a background check.)

WHAT TYPE OF WORK IS AVAILABLE?

Our volunteer CJA’s (Court Judicial Assistants) do a variety of tasks while working along side our employees. Examples of tasks are providing information and assistance to the public, performing duties such as filing, research, and data entry, along with division and courtroom assistance. Each area within our courthouse submits their volunteer needs to the volunteer coordinator. As the volunteer coordinator processes the Volunteer Interest Form and interviews the prospective volunteer, we strive to find the best possible match between the interests and desires of the applicant and the needs requested by the team or division.
